My Top Ten Favorite Video Games of All Time

A little while ago, I promised a post about my favorite video games. Now, I'm about to create my first YouTube channel which's going to feature walkthroughs for the most part, and some other geeky stuff which I yet to come up with, and so I thought there wouldn't be a better time to fulfill the promise. Oh, and don't be surprised if every one of them is an adventure game. The genre is really close to my heart.

We play Maya, en Egyptian clairvoyant who needs to figure out what's going on when a great statue that's being built falls down on the leader of the construction. She also has to find a cure for him, otherwise the monument will not be finished and the gods will get angry with the Egyptians and they might punish them. Or so they believe.

Egypt 3 is a classic point and click adventure game with many dialogues and numerous challenging riddles. The story line's gripping and there are some things you are not going to see coming.

This games is the third and last in the series after Egypt: 1156 B.C.: Tomb of the Pharaoh and Egypt 2: The Heliopolis Prophecy.

Return to the Mysterious Island 2

Mina's in the helicopter finally, headed home. But not for long. The copter crashes and though she survives, once again she founds herself alone on the island. Well, almost alone. There's still Jep, her monkey and only company who becomes the second playable character of the game. But if getting stuck on the island alone for the second time wasn't enough, a mysterious disease erupts and attacks plants and animals as well.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first game, but the second game came around nicely. Its graphics and controlling improved a lot and it became a pretty cool wandering around and searching for things kind of game. And it's quite of a challenge, too. Definitely not the easiest game out there.

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (Norwegian: Drømmefall: Den lengste reisen) is an adventure video game developed by Norwegian company Funcom for Microsoft Windows and Xbox platforms on April 2006.The story focuses on three characters, Zoë Castillo, April Ryan, and Kian Alvane, who live in two parallel worlds: technologically advanced Stark and magical Arcadia. April was the protagonist of the first game, while the other two are new characters. The main storyline follows Zoë, a Stark resident whose investigation of her ex-boyfriend's disappearance and other mysterious occurrences lead her to April. Meanwhile in Arcadia, April battles the villainous Empire of Azadi while Kian, an elite Azadi soldier, is sent to assassinate her. The game features returning characters from its predecessor, such as Brian Westhouse and Gordon Halloway, but playing The Longest Journey is not a prerequisite to understanding its plot.

The story of Dreamfall is presented as a narration of Zoë Castillo, a 20-year-old girl, living in Casablanca in 2219. She lies in coma and recounts the events that had her wind up there. Her narration concerns Project Alchera, an international conspiracy by the Japan-based toy manufacturer WATIcorp, that aims to introduce a potentially-destructive lucid dream technology ("dreamer console") to the market.

Zoë's story begins when her journalist ex-boyfriend Reza Temiz disappears while investigating Project Alchera and a mysterious little girl through television-screens begins urging her to "find" and "save" April Ryan. She sets out to find him and along the way she discovers secrets where there's no stop. She discovers who April is and what the dream machine is for real while wandering across several locations throughout the world.

The Longest Journey

The Longest Journey is a point-and-click adventure game release in 1998, where the player interacts with objects on the screen to solve puzzles and advance the story.

The game takes place in the parallel universes of magic-dominated Arcadia and industrial Stark. The protagonist, April Ryan, is an 18-year-old art student living in Stark, who is a 'Shifter', capable of movement between these worlds, and tasked with restoring their essential Balance. However, that's not all by far. She has to stop the evil forces advancing on both worlds.

No. 3

Syberia 2

Syberia II, like its predecessor, is a third-person, mouse-driven, semi-realistic/semi-surrealistic adventure game in which the player must solve various puzzles and follow certain procedures in order for the linear storyline to proceed. As a pure graphical adventure game, Syberia follows the guidelines first introduced by LucasArts: it is impossible to die or to get stuck at any moment in the game, which allows the user to fully immerse him/herself in Syberia's universe without the fear of making a mistake or the constant need of saving the game.

I won't tell any more about it now since I can't tell anything without spilling major spoilers to the first game. Also, it wouldn't make sense without the previous game.
But as a fact, this game is an amazing, tearjacking story.

No. 2

Grey Matter

Gray Matter is a point-and-click adventure game designed by Jane Jensen, renowned for the Sierra Entertainment Gabriel Knight series. The game was developed by Wizarbox and published by dtp entertainment for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360. It was released in Nomber of 2010 in Continental Europe and in English-speaking territories in 2011. There were plans for a Wii version.

The opening scene of the game depicts Sam riding her motorcycle in the rain in the countryside while traveling to London, and accidentally being redirected to Oxford because of a broken street sign. Her bike breaks down, forcing her to take shelter in Dread Hill, a nearby mansion where David resides. She poses as an Oxford student responding to Styles' request for a research assistant.
Eventually, Sam is ordered to recruit six students as test subjects for David's research. Through clever manipulation and magic tricks, Sam manages to find four students willing to volunteer for the experiment. The professor recalls her to Dread Hill, letting her know that he found a fifth candidate and making Sam herself the sixth.

As the game progresses, Sam learns about the professor's past, his research on the paranormal, the prestigious members-only Daedalus magic club, a series of bizarre events that take place at Oxford University, and how these elements are connected.
This game's got unusual graphic that can be a bit strange for the first time, but it's quite beautiful once you get used to it.

Syberia

Syberia is a 2002 computer adventure game designed by Benoît Sokal, developed by Microïds, and published through The Adventure Company. It follows Kate Walker, the protagonist, as she attempts to wrap up a sale on behalf of her law firm. In addition to the main plot, the game contains a subplot conducted via calls received on Kate's cell phone. It involves Kate's deteriorating relationship with her fiancé.

Syberia was acclaimed by critics for its graphic design and intelligent script. The game contains elements of art nouveau and steampunk fiction. Most devices and tools (including a train) are powered by springs and wind-up gears.

This is one of the most unique games I've ever seen. No. This is the most unique game I have ever seen. The plot is amazing, the places are never-seen-before and it's got the kind of atmosphere you just want to live in.

Well, that'd be all for now. I hope you guys liked it and that I'll be see you around. If you like what I'm doing please share and follow. It'd mean the world to me. Bye. :)
